We have worked with Mark Matthews and his team for 5 plus years. He has done numerous small and large remodels for us. He is creative and can handle everything a homeowner would want in their remodeled dream house. We removed a staircase, added an upstairs bathroom in its place and a wet bar below. He completed this on time and for a reasonable price. We have recently asked him to do a complete redo of our kitchen and dining area. He has worked very well with the architect, the kitchen design firm and the decorator. He is a good team player who meets all his commitments both financially and in a timely matter.

Mark Matthews built our 5600sf oceanfront home in 2010.  It was a seamless process, from start to finish, involving a complete demolition of two existing dwellings on the site and construction of a brand-new home with high end finishes.  We gave Mark a very tight deadline and told him that we wanted to be in the house to cook Thanksgiving dinner in 2010.  Mark’s attention to detail and sense of urgency ensured that happened!  We have a home we love, and Mark was a pleasure to deal with.

Selecting the right builder is critically important.  I have seen firsthand watching other homes being built in my neighborhood  that Mark’s quality of subcontractors and workmanship, attention to detail and sense of urgency far exceed other builders working in Virginia Beach.
 

Mark Matthews built our home in Bay Colony in 2007. We interviewed three potential builders and chose Mark because we liked his direct personality and cost-plus approach.
The home turned out beautifully. It is solid and well-built. Mark was enjoyable to work with and does a strong job of keeping things on track. To this day I can call Mark about any issues and he is responsive. We have referred other couples to Mark and he has done excellent work in each case. hank you so much for a great experience and your attention to the details. We recently finished a large renovation with MG Matthews Construction and were so pleased with our new home! It far exceeded our expectations and we were equally pleased with the process. We have been through several other home renovations, all of which were extremely stressful, but Mark is very adept at taking the stress out of the job for his clients.

We were out of town during much of the construction, but Mark kept in constant communication with us and troubleshot many problems in our absence. He worked collaboratively with both our architect and interior designer and delivered a high-end result on time and on budget! What more can we say? He is the best! 
 

I would like to take a moment to spotlight a local general contractor I have worked with for over 20 years.  M.G. Matthews Construction Company.  Having worked for them as a subcontractor, I quickly found Mark and his crews to operate as professionally as possible at all levels.  Having success at the subcontractor level with them led me to hire them to build my own home and a few other commercial properties that my wife and I own.  I have recommended M.G.
